| About the Author: Josh Isaac Josh Isaac spent his childhood in Ottawa, ON, Boston, MA, Denver, CO and Tempe, AZ. In High School, he was a star soccer player and editor-in-chief of his school's newspaper. After graduation, Josh attended and played soccer at the University of Rhode Island. He graduated with a BA in English in 2002. Josh focused his efforts on music after college, drumming for bands Sleepwalk and FC Armenta, a progressive/experimental band that recently released a full length LP entitled, "Eternal Rivals.". In addition to music, Josh's interest in writing continued to grow. In 2005, he took his avid poetry writing to a new place when he decided to write on a larger scale. A year later, in August 2006, he completed a 35,000 word novella entitled, "As the Waitreess Brought Fire to a Fighting Man." Just two years later, in January 2009, Josh finished the 102,000 word piece entitled, "The Distance from You to Me." Both works act as a stream of conscious struggle between the ugly and the beautiful. "As the Waitress Brought Fire to a Fighting Man" flows as the lyrics would to a song: fragmented, yet unified by emotion. "The Distance from You to Me" is meant to be wholly visual, working as a movie: an abstract take on a visual sequence. "I create within the realm of the impossible, coated in suburban reality. The musicians and writers and filmmakers that have inspired me are too numerous to mention. I have no confined genres. There can be great art anywhere, at anytime, in anything. Without it I would be the emptiness of humanity. Dull and uninspired. It is the art that has brought me here." -Josh Isaac |
